CATHY KOWAL Our lives go on without you But nothing is the same We have to hide our heartache When someone speaks your name Sad are the hearts that love you Silent are the tears that fall Living without you is the hardest part of all. A word someone may say Will suddenly recapture a time, an hour, a day Bringing back memories as though it was yesterday Filling us with warm feelings that you are always near For if we keep these moments, we will never be apart. Cathy, you'll live forever locked safe within our hearts. The special years will not return When we were all together, But with the love that dwells in our hearts You will walk with us forever. In loving memory... Bob, Susan and Kristen

  • Catherine was a very, very dear friend of mine. Unfortunately, we grew apart after her marriage to Jim, but she was never ever far from my heart or my thoughts and wonderful memories I will always cherish. I remember when she would wrinkle up her nose and laugh with her little hee hee hee! Holding her hand up to her mouth. We had so much fun together, at our houses on Second Street in Fort Frances, at the Fort Frances Hotel that her Father John used to own, at their cabin on Stanjikoming Bay, and at their camp Regina Bay Resort in Sioux Narrows, On. Last night I had an incredible dream that my husband Pete and I were standing in this incredibly bright hallway and Cathy came walking up to me and she was wearing a big brown furry coat and a big smile. I hugged her for quite awhile with tears streaming down my face. I was soooo Happy to see her again! When I woke up I immediately started an online search for her in hopes to reconnect, possibly with Face Book or another form of social media? Imagine the devastating jolt I received when finding her Obituary! I sobbed and sobbed. Why didn't I keep in touch with her? People should learn from situations like this that what we have today can be gone in a heart beat. We almost lost our youngest daughter Samantha 5 years ago to a rare heart disease. She received a heart transplant at the tender age of 25 and just celebrated her 4 year new heart Birthday. Life is soooo precious! I wish to extend my most heartfelt condolences to Jim and their two children, as well as to John and Valentina, Babe and Alex and their families, as well as to all of the people's lives our sweet Catherine touched. I will hold her close in my heart always! - Posted by: Ellen Canfield Gagne (Childhood friend and Maid of Honor) on: Oct 25, 2015
